Delusion is a short experimental film that explores sound, light, time, and space. The most basic concept explanation is to make the user forget about what he or she thinks they know about the symbol over time. The symbol used is constantly appearing throughout the duration of the video; most notable during extreme mood changing periods with the sounds and visuals. The sounds and visuals are used to convey a sense of awareness while they symbol may appear for a short period. The user’s perception of the symbol is meant to change and deepen the longer they witness the video; with this video being displayed on an installation in high foot traffic areas the standard user will not get the full sense of the piece by just one viewing. Only over the course of multiple viewings will the user fully understand the purpose of the overall video and symbol; where one’s preconceived notion will ultimately be incomplete as multiple passing’s will build on their thoughts as well as their emotions. What the person believes will be determined by when they passed the installation giving them different emotions depending on the audio and visual effects occurring at that time. This video piece was on display within the installation piece, Input_1 to aid the understanding of emotions in a space.
